About Angelís Wong
**Pronounced (Ann-jeh-lease)**
Hello and welcome to my website!
My name is Angelís Wong, and I am a multidisciplinary artist. This means that I work with various mediums and disciplines in my art. I enjoy painting, drawing, photography, sewing, and hand embroidery. I am passionate about learning new techniques and experimenting with different forms of artistic expression. I grew up in the Bronx and lived there until I moved to the Hudson Valley in late 2020. Since then, I’ve been seeking more inspiration and focusing on creating more art.
I have loved to draw since I was a little girl. In school, my art teacher always encouraged me to create more and participate in art competitions. Discovering different media and colors was always exciting as I grew up, and I still feel that same excitement when learning about new techniques and artistic styles.
Over the past few years, I have explored various themes in my artwork. While I love creating still lifes and figure drawings, I wanted to venture into new themes and subject matters. I have created abstract pieces, works addressing climate change, and a collection of garments inspired by my cultural background. My goal is for my audience to feel a connection with my artwork. I want my pieces to evoke emotions and provoke thought, not just be visually appealing. I believe that art can transform people's perspectives by conveying powerful messages.

Thank you for capturing this moment Mama.
